Supporting parents and carers

Supporting your child or young adult at home starts with understanding their unique needs. Specifically, we help you recognize how learning differences impact education and work.

We know how complex learning differences can be and how important it is for families to feel included and informed. We also recognise the nuance of diagnoses and labels. Our aim is to help you explore what they mean in everyday life.

If something feels unclear, or you’re wondering how it makes sense for your child, teen, or young adult, or for your family as a whole, just ask. We’re always happy to explain again, walk you through it and/or offer resources tailored to your needs and wants.

How you can support their journey

You are a vital part of your child or teen’s coaching experience. For young adults, we respect their autonomy and preferences around involvement. Wherever your role is welcomed, we value your insights, questions and lived perspective and invite you to engage in ways that feel right for you:

  • Join us periodically for discussions and reflections.
  • Share what’s working (and what’s not) at home.
  • Ask questions at any time.
  • Explore routines that promote independence.
  • Learn alongside us, as we learn alongside you.

We know that parenting or supporting a neurodivergent learner, or anyone with a unique profile can raise plenty of questions. If you’re ever unsure about terminology, tools, or how a diagnosis plays out in real life, just ask. We’ll explain it again, break it down, or offer resources tailored to your family.

Support for young adults

You are in charge of your journey. If you’d like to include a parent, mentor, or trusted adult in parts of the process, we’ll support that. If not, that’s okay too. This space is yours.

We’re happy to send helpful information, point you to reliable resources, or talk things through.

Know you’re supported – we’re in this together. It is a Team effort.
