Supporting parents and carers

We work with parents and carers; the term ‘parent’ is used here to include both.

Our aim is to support your child’s independence while giving you the understanding you need.

If your child has a diagnosis, we help you make sense of reports and terminology by focusing on what it means in everyday thinking, learning and doing.

You can expect:

  • clear explanations
  • check-ins at meaningful points
  • practical guidance for home
  • space to ask questions

We offer a monthly 30-minute check-in to reflect, steady the plan and share observations.

Your role is to help keep the work steady. Involvement varies for each family; what matters is a shared understanding and a pace that supports the learner.

For older learners, we agree how and when parents are involved – from regular updates to more independence. Your insight helps shape approaches that genuinely fit your learner.
